Patricia Woody Reeves

Patricia Woody Reeves is the founder of PWR Consulting Group, LLC, a Woman-Owned Small Business. Her 34 years of professional leadership, technical management, innovation and community engagement have uniquely positioned her for this role.

She earned the distinction of becoming the first woman NAVSEA Warfare Center, Machinery Research and Engineering Department Head and Distinguished Senior Scientific Technical Manager (SSTM). Patricia steered the largest of the technical departments and the only machinery command in the Navy, leading nearly 1,400 engineers and scientists, administering an annual budget in excess of $800M. She was the decision maker responsible for the strategic, technical and managerial direction of machinery programs related to US Navy surface ships, submarines and aircraft carriers, spanning science and technology, research and development, design, shipboard and land-based testing, in-service engineering, integrated logistics and customer relations.

During this period, her organization experienced unprecedented technical, financial and diversity growth, positioning the Philadelphia Division for the future.

As the machinery research and engineering technical leader, she has had extensive involvement with NAVSEA, ONR, PEOs and technology experts throughout industry and academia.

An avid champion of diversity policies, she has been a leading advocate of proactive leadership, involvement and mentorship to eliminate barriers to success.

Recognizing the significance of partnerships with the local community, Patricia has been at the forefront of building relationships and driving sustainable involvement, collaborating with academia, business and neighborhood organizations.

She is actively engaged in numerous professional societies and civic associations including Penn State’s Center for Engineering Outreach and Inclusion, Villanova University Engineering Advisory Board Member, NDIA Philadelphia Chapter, ASNE, ASME, IEEE and SWE.

A prolific author, Patricia has written numerous technical articles and has been a keynote speaker at conferences on a variety of topics including technology, STEM, diversity and leadership.

Due to her outstanding achievements, she has been the recipient of numerous awards from the Navy, academia, technical societies and the community to include Philadelphia Business Journal Women of Distinction Award, Drexel University College of Engineering Alumni Circle of Distinction Award, Drexel University Alumni Association Special Distinction Award, IEEE Philadelphia Section Corporate Technology Innovation Award, NDIA National Model Chapter, Department of the Navy Meritorious Civil Service Award to name a few.

Patricia received her B.S.E in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and her M.S.E. in Engineering Management from Drexel University. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Temple University in the graduate Engineering Management program.

Patricia is a thought leader and exceptional role model who is respected and admired by the many people whose lives she has touched through her consistent outreach.
